Slips and falls on wet surfaces are a major problem for all types of commercial establishments as well as residences. Our time tested Surface and Bathtub Treatment help solve those costly and dangerous problems.

Our surface solution has been used successfully by major restaurant & hotel chains, hospitals and office buildings for 22 years.

Surfaces Treated

Our one time etching treatment can make ceramic, porcelain and quarry tiles, marble, granite, terrazzo, limestone, slate, concrete, etc. slip-resistant. Usually, there is very little or no change in color or gloss.

OSI floor service can make your lobby, kitchens, entry ways, shower rooms, patios, pool decks, etc. slip resistant. It is the perfect safety solution for restaurants, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, office buildings, malls and apartments.

Invisible Microscopic Etching

This chemical treatment microscopically etches an invisible tread into the surface. These treads prevent the sole of a shoe or foot from slipping and sliding; thereby creating a non-slip surface. In most cases, there will be little or no gloss reduction or color change. Slip-resistance exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) requirements.

Slip Resistant Surface Guarantee

Surfaces treated by OSI technicians make the surface slip-resistant and have a Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) reading of 0.6 or higher, for a minimum of 4 years. The American with Disabilities Act rates horizontal surfaces with a SCOF of 0.6 slip resistant and safe whereas OSHA requires a SCOF rating of 0.5.

Benefits

In order to receive the full benefits of an OSI treated surface, it is necessary for your treated surface to be cleaned daily with a general all purpose cleaner. For commercial kitchens, food service areas or other hazardous areas we recommend our bio-degradable slip-resistant cleaner/degreaser.

Your floors will remain slip-resistant and safe and you will have a useful defense against any negligence litigation.

Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) Testing

We recommend annual testing of the Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) and recording the results in a log book.  OSI offers surface follow up SCOF testing using a Horizontal Slip Meter.

We recommend monthly spot testing using a child sneaker on the treated surface.  With minimal pressure the sneaker should be slip resistant on the treated surface when wet. 

Application

Surfaces are prepped and treated by our technicians using OSI’s proven slip resistant formulas.  Applications may require power washing, degreasing or deep surface cleaning before the treatment is applied.

OSI Slip Resistant Surface Solution is always applied by our trained technicians. These professionals have proper training and experience. It takes about one hour to treat 500 square feet. Application times are scheduled at your convenience, usually when your business is closed or off peak times, so there is no interruption or inconvenience.

The treated surface will be slip-resistant and ready to walk on as soon as we are finished. Cleaning and maintenance of your surface remains the same.
